Data Retention Policy

1. Summary

Anvil keeps your data only as long as you need it to run the app. We retain it while Anvil is installed and purge it within 30 days of uninstall.

2. While installed

While Anvil is installed, we keep the store, product, inventory, location, order, and refund data needed to track stock and suggest reorders, along with the purchase orders, suppliers, transfers, adjustments, and valuation history you create. This keeps your history and reports accurate.

3. After you uninstall

When you uninstall Anvil, we immediately stop processing new data for your store and begin deletion. All of your store's data is permanently deleted within 30 days.

In practice, Shopify notifies us to erase your data shortly after uninstall (typically within about 48 hours); the 30-day window is our outer limit.

4. GDPR and Shopify data requests

Anvil handles Shopify's privacy webhooks automatically. When Shopify sends a customer data-request, customer-erasure, or shop-erasure request, we process it without any manual steps.

Because Anvil does not store protected customer information (names, emails, addresses, or phone numbers), customer-specific requests are largely no-ops: there's no customer personal data on our side to return or erase.

5. Deleting your data sooner
